As I have entered 2018, with unanswered prayers, with questions for God, with days where I am holding onto miracles and breakthroughs I am believing for by the tips of the tips of my fingers…. God reminds me to hold on a bit longer and a bit tighter and most importantly, that He hasn’t forgotten me. This time through a song on the radio (see lyrics at the end of this). Just as I was thinking about what hasn’t been and trying to muster my faith, and find my true North (my core belief about the situation) again…. giving myself a little pep talk to make sure I don’t give up…. this song starts playing.
“Don’t you give up on a miracle
You’ve got to speak to the impossible, oh
You’ve got to pray till your break through breaks through the ceiling keep on believing
Don’t you give up
Don’t you give up on a miracle”.
The church I attend takes time at the start of each year with taking time to pray and fast, to make sure God is the focus and not ourselves. This can look different for each person, but I choose to be a part of this in some way. You may also consider doing something similar to help you reset your focus and allowing God to be in the center of your circumstances and miracles you are believing for.
So, as we stand in faith believing for our miracle, don’t listen to the enemy saying ‘it won’t make a difference’, ‘Gods going to do it for someone else, not you’, ‘why do you think you deserve breakthrough?’, ‘you’re wasting your time and energy’.
Matthew 6:31-34 tells us not to be anxious about what we shall eat, drink or wear, God has that all under control. Verse 33 tells us to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
If God has our needs taken care of when we put Him first, how much more should we trust that He knows and hears the cries of our heart in every area.
I encourage you today, seek Him first, lay down your hearts desires, what you are believing for, dreaming of, needing break through in at His feet. Allow Him to deal with it, don’t carry the worry and fear around it yourself. You focus on growing closer to God and let Him sort out everything else. It’s a decision to do so, sometimes a minute by minute choice as we build our trust that God will deal with it. But as you do, as you let go of the fear of not seeing it happen and trusting God has the best for you, your faith will rise, your relationship with God will grow deeper, you’ll find joy and laughter in the darkness and you’ll allow God to do what is best in your circumstances rather than trying to control and sort it out in your own strength.
So today ‘don’t give up on your miracle’, but allow God to sort it out and seek Him and His presence instead of you trying to make your miracle happen.
Song:
Miracle
Unspoken
Have you stopped reaching?
No longer seeking greater things
Have you forgotten you have a Father listening? oh
He tells the sun when to rise
Gives the wind it’s breath
Swings a door wide open and moves in a moment you least expect
Don’t you give up on a miracle
You’ve got to speak to the impossible, oh
You’ve got to pray till your break through breaks through the ceiling keep on believing
Don’t you give up
Don’t you give up on a miracle
How many chances?
How many answers pass us by?
You know it takes faith to step on the waves when you’re terrified
So when you’re packed in a corner (corner)
And can’t wait any longer
Don’t you give up on a miracle
You’ve got to speak to the impossible, oh
You’ve got to pray till your break through breaks through the ceiling keep on believing
Don’t you give up
Don’t you give up on a miracle
Feels like the presents the words you’ve spoken
They go unnoticed like drops in the ocean
Just beyond the veil of your vision
Your mountains are moving, moving on
Remember the works his hand has done
Where you once were and how far you’ve come, oh
Don’t you give up on a miracle
You’ve got to speak to the impossible, oh
You’ve got to pray till your break through breaks through the ceiling keep on believing
Don’t you give up on a miracle (don’t you give up)
You’ve got to speak to the impossible, oh (you’ve got to speak, keep on believing)
Pray till you break through breaks through the ceiling keep on believing
Don’t you give up
Don’t you give up on a miracle
Pray till your break through breaks through the ceiling keep on believing
